What does Virat Kohli have to do with creativity? Well, you’ll see exactly what if you join us on this week’s trip to the six (6) most interesting creative destinations for arts and crafts in India on the internet.

Roughly speaking, dictionary dot com defines creativity as the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships or the like and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, and interpretations using the power of imagination.

At Engrave, we worship India’s ceaseless ability to create and recreate, and pay tribute to its artisans and craftspeople by undertaking a fortnightly pilgrimage to six creative places in Indian arts and crafts on the internet and share our discoveries with you.

The idea of this trip is to introduce you to India’s best of what’s out there and inspire you to do the best you can to be more creative; for creativity is a quality the world can do with a lot more of.

1. Colouring Kohli

by Manojith Krishnan

You can’t do much with just colour pencils, right? Wrong. If you have an eye for detail, the imagination to see things in your head, and are dedicated to the art and craft of colour pencil sketches, here’s a beautiful example of what you can do with just colour pencils. Well played, Manojith Krishnan!

2. Imagining Kohli

by Prasad Bhat

“I don't usually follow cricket but I happened to see the match (India v/s Australia) at a bar yesterday and this guy was amazing.” Prasad Bhat. To be inspired is the first step to being creative. See what Virat inspired someone who doesn’t care much for cricket to come up with.

3. Brush with Kohli

by Ashwin Kelkar

Ashwin Kelkar must be a very happy man. Not only was he inspired enough to create an oil painting of Virat Kohli, he was also lucky enough to gift it to the India batsman and vice-captain. To have one’s creative abilities appreciated in such a manner is truly inspiring. Keep going, Ashwin!

This man hitting centuries doesn't surprise you.....but his failures do......what a player....!!VK...oil paint on canvas...:)

5. Kohli in B&W

by Ritu Gera

One of the reasons Virat Kohli’s batting looks so good is he tries to keep it simple. He doesn’t attempt outlandish shots. He doesn’t manufacture strokes. He doesn’t stray too far away from what he knows best. This is a formula that can be used to be creative, too. Put simply, if you do what you know best to the best of your ability, you will find a way to be creative. This piece of pencil art is a great example of the fine art of keeping things simple à la Kohli.
